Nhan Dan ? The southern province of Dong Nai has attracted a total of US $11.6 billion worth of foreign direct investment from 32 countries and territories over the past 20 years.

The FDI attraction to the locality is reported to increase quickly after years.

By the end of 2007, 884 FDI projects are still in valid with 700 enterprises have already been carrying out trading activities and 80 others are in the process of construction. Total implemented capital has hit US $6.5 billion.

The foreign-invested sector has contributed significantly to the high economic growth of the locality, at an average of 13% a year, to provincial economic structure shifting, resulted in the high growth of industrial value of the foreign invested sector, at 20-30% a year. The sector has also created jobs for some 320,000 workers.

From the beginning of this year, the province has attracted US $1.8 billion worth of FDI, up six times compared to the same period last year.
