AsiaViews, Edition: 13/V/April/2008 Chennai, April 23: Tamil Nadu Industries Developm-ent Corporation Ltd (Tidco) and realty major DLF on Wednesday signed a MoU to develop an IT SEZ at Taramani, the IT hub of Chennai.
The investment in this project is estimated at Rs 1,500 crore and it will generate direct employment to 45,000 professionals and indirect employment to another 10,000 people.
The project coming up on 26 acres of land on Rajiv Gandhi Salai, will have 4.5 million sq ft built up area and will be implemented in two phases. The MoU was signed in presence of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
According to a government release, the first phase with 2.5 million sq ft space will be completed by 2009 and the second phase with 2 million sq ft by 2011.
