TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said that Indonesian oil firm Pertamina will do some acquisition to oil company in Iraq. “If we want to get oil from Iraq, we have to own a company there,” he said on June 26. It is faster than building a new company. “We intend to buy shares of Iraqi company,” Dahlan said. He did not mention the name of the company he was referring to.

He didn’t mention either about how much funding would be needed for this purpose. “It’s a lot, for sure. I hope we can make it happen by the end of the year,” he said. Dahlan also said that it will not be easy to do the acquisition. He met Iraqi Prime Minister Deputy at Pertamina Headquarters this afternoon.
