TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is eyeing East Java as a potential location for the gas processing industry. Starting this year, the government is planning to boost the gas industry through, among others initiatives, the provision of converter kits.
“East Java is the second option after Jakarta in terms of gas industry development,” said Deputy Energy Minister Rudi Rubiandini met at an event on energy saving held by the Public Works Ministry on Tuesday.
Rudi said that East Java was particularly suitable because of its sufficient supply of gas. Indonesia, in total, has 1.2 percent of the world’s gas reserves.
