SINGAPORE - Bourse operator Singapore Exchange (SGX) and the Securities Investors Association Singapore (SIAS) are joining hands to bring investor education to the general public.
Over the next three years, the pair will conduct seminars in the heartlands to educate retail investors on topics ranging from the basics of money management to investing in stocks and shares.
"It is our intention to have every Singaporean financially educated, to make informed financial and investing decisions to secure their financial future," said SIAS President and CEO David Gerald. Their first joint initiative will be the inaugural Singapore Investment Week, which will run between Aug 25 and 31 and include a series of investment seminars, online videos and radio programmes.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed yesterday, SGX and SIAS will also work with tertiary institutions to educate young investors on the sound principles of long-term investing.
