Following a sub-decree from Prime Minister Hun Sen last month, the government is looking for outside funding to sponsor a series of banners highlighting areas inhabited by endangered Mekong River Dolphins.

“The banners are to let the public and tourists understand that the dolphins are an endangered species and need to be protected in the area,” said Touch Seang Tana, chairman of the Commission for Mekong River Dolphin Conservation and Ecotourism Development, noting that the World Wildlife Fund had expressed interest, and that experts are drafting a budget.
