Animals at the Surabaya zoo dying one by one |

TEMPO Interactive, Surabaya: On Saturday, September 8, the Surabaya Zoo lost another one of its animals: a while Bengal tiger named Santi. The animal died of complications of internal disorders. The white tiger had also been paralyzed for three years.
Santi’s death adds to a long list of animals that have died at Surabaya Zoo this year. This year alone, 135 animals have died at the zoo. Before Santi, a giraffe named Kliwon died in March and a plastic bag was found in its stomach.
The animal clinic at the Surabaya Zoo is currently treating a bear, a bison, a hog, and a Nilgai (a species of deer from India).
